Joachim Löw at Karlsruher SC v HSV

Video and pictures of Jogi at tonight’s game along with Andreas Köpke. The game was the second leg of the relegation play-off between his former team Karlsruher SC and Hamburger SV. His presence unfortunately did not bring them much luck, HSV managed to equalise in the last minute with a free kick thanks to a very controversial decision by the referee. In extra time they made it 2-1, thus securing their Bundesliga status, undeservedly so if you ask me. Once again they survive by doing just the bare minimum that is required of them and I’m cheated out of enjoying any feelings of vengeance. KSC miss out on a chance of promotion, their six years in the 2. Bundesliga becoming seven now. What a strange symmetry that is, six years in the 2. Bundesliga for KSC and it was six years in the top flight for Freiburg before they got relegated this year. Strange as it is, there is one silver lining to their survival, I won’t have to see them play Freiburg next season.

2. Bundesliga Count-down – 53 days to go.
